Experience
John began playing piano at age ten. He majored in music at the University of Hawaii. His musical accomplishments include playing in a rock band in Hawaii that warmed up for Loggins & Messina and other main acts to chanting and singing bajhans in the Indian Himalayas. He has created and performed music for radio commercials, videos, and plays. John was the music director and keyboardist for The Sierra Center for Positive Living in 2005. He composed and played the music for his CD, Behind The Mask, an uplifting blend of inspirational, jazz, and world music performed on grand piano, synthesizer, saxophone, hand drums and acoustic instruments. John accompanies Sher Christian’s poetry on their compact disc Sweet Tongue in styles that include Cajun, rhythm and blues, jazz, and boogie-woogie. They perform at bookstores, open mics, and for groups, weddings, memorials, celebrations, and other events.
I'm a musician and the bandleader of a band called The Don Giovannis. John Christian played keyboard and accordion in our band for 4 years. He also did the audio mixing for one of our CDs and designed the artwork for the cover. He's a 'creative" musician and designer--he comes up with ideas that are novel and visionary rather than just executing other people's ideas. He contributed musical input to our songs that was distinctive and unique. He expanded our musical sound with his own artistic soul. He is also very easy to collaborate with due to his gentle, good natured personal vibe. He's tolerant of other people and supportive of other's ideas.

Testimonials
John's solo performance was truly a blast! His command of the classic Hammond Organ sound and the jazz idiom are spot on and very energizing. His music felt just right for the occasion - upbeat, celebratory and beautiful. Thanks John, for a wonderful event! James Reynolds
"Black Angel is an established rock 'n' roll band started in 1999 by Audrey (Mrs. Ike) Turner and Ronnie Turner (son of Ike and Tina Turner) and both former members of Ike Turner and the Kings of Rhythm; Cory and Ernie Orosco (Strawberry Alarm Clock) and me. The band continues to this day. We were lucky enough to have had John Christian play some great piano parts on a number of our songs recently. His honky tonk piano playing really made the songs take off. We hope to work with John in the future by having him play both piano and Hammond B3 organ for us".

John Christian has been instrumental in my personal music career, in front of, or behind the scenes. Over the years, we have composed, produced, and performed many successful shows, recordings, and videos. John has been a creative inspiration, and an active composer. Either directing or assisting, his ideas are fresh and innovative. As a musician, he is stellar. He never failed to amaze me with his conformity Or "Out of the box" approach to whatever I threw at him, because of his Beautiful eclectic playing capabilities.
